This stone is the link between the quartz of the chalcedony family and jasper. The base is made of green chalcedony, in which, as in jasper, small crystals of quartz, hematite, iron are included, which give the speckles a yellow and red color. Heliotrope means “to turn towards the sun” in Greek, in fact in ancient times it was thought that this stone reflected the sun.
